Pennyroyal (Mentha pulegium) also known as European Pennyroyal, Poleo, Pudding Grass, and Flea Mint is a strong aromatic herb traditionally used for digestive comfort, respiratory support, and external cleansing. Rich in pulegone, menthol-like compounds, tannins, and volatile oils, pennyroyal helps relieve gas, bloating, cramps, and sluggish digestion while supporting clearer breathing.
Commonly used to ease indigestion, nausea, gas, colic, menstrual tension, and cold-related congestion, pennyroyal also has traditional topical uses for skin cleansing, insect repellant applications, and external washes.
Important: Pennyroyal can be very strong internally, especially in concentrated or essential-oil form, and is traditionally used in small amounts as tea. It should not be used during pregnancy.
